Tamitsa is a condensed display sans font. Begum Sans is a high-contrast design. Its letterforms feature horizontal strokes that flair outwards and look a bit like wedges; this is particularly prominent in the typeface’s capital letters. The feature has a long tradition in lettering, which even predates typography: similar wedge-shaped horizontal strokes were prominent features on Florentine inscriptional lettering during the Renaissance. This all started as a bunch of letter written using a squared paper as a guide. It all turned out fine, but there was something that wasn't quite right...it was boring! I took all the letters and grunge it all up and did all the drips as well - and suddenly that boring look was gone!

That was an unlikely development!

I used the word "Cholo" because this lettering in inspired by cholo-graffiti culture in Los Angeles in 70's years. The one of the best rappresent is Charles "Chaz" Bojorquez the father of cholo-lettering. Cholo because i think that in 70's in Los Angeles neighborhoods where graffiti-culture grow up there was a persons whit a mixed multicultural connexion and Chaz is one of them. Cholo-graffiti or Cholo-lettering is a specifing style o lettering. I think this is a good keyword for this lettering.
